Things I care about
This course is essentially a guide to my opinions on how to teach; the insight I provide is based largely on what I've come to believe works best. Before we dig deeper into this course, I want to share some of these opinions up front. You can decide if you agree with them or not!
Being an encouragement
The first principle that guides me is giving people the encouragement they need to conquer difficult tasks. Preparing and delivering a screencast is not super easy! The same applies when it comes to producing and editing videos. It takes hard work.
As tough as it might be, it is absolutely doable. If I can do it, so can you! I want to be a voice of positivity in the community. Someone that says "Yes, it might be daunting, but you can absolutely do it!"
Throughout this course and every other I facilitate, my message remains constant: even though some things may be difficult, you can do it.
Clarity, brevity, and quality
The second belief I deeply hold is that, clear and concise delivery of content plays a significant role in effective teaching. This means that I may record videos several times until I can precisely articulate what I'm teaching. This isn't just for the aesthetics of it, but out of respect for you, the learner. It's up to me to deliver high quality content, which respects your time.
Crafting content that is not only thoroughly-researched and relevant, but also well-polished and professional is my goal. Creating video content already sets you apart from many out there. That's because you've chosen a mode of delivery that can be challenging when compared to, say, writing.
However, with a bit of effort and an eye for detail, you can elevate your output even more. By focusing on small adjustments and improvements, you can achieve a high-quality result that'll make your content stand out.
Throughout this course, we'll look at some seemingly minute details that might at first glance appear inconsequential. Some elements might even seem trivial or excessive, yet every spice plays a part in this perfect dish. These accumulated "minor" elements eventually converge to establish a polished end product.
Quick and efficient results
Lastly, as someone who isn't a full-time course creator but instead balances this with a full-time job, efficiency is critical. Creating high-quality content is my mission, but I also understand the importance of getting it out the door in a timely fashion. While there's always room for more lights, better cameras, or fancier graphics, effective and efficient content creation is my priority.
This course is custom tailored for those who share these principles. If you value encouragement, clarity, quality and efficiency, you're gonna love this course.
