Introduction to the structure of screencasting.com

Let's delve into the structure of screencasting.com so you'll know what you're getting into. You're currently watching the main course, "How to Screencast 101," which encompasses everything you need to know about screencasting.

Editor-specific courses

In addition to this main course, we offer other courses tailored to specific editors. If you're interested in learning about Final Cut Pro or Premiere for screencasters, we have dedicated courses for those. This leads us to the question, "What program is being used in this course?"

Using ScreenFlow in this course

In this course, I will be using a program called ScreenFlow. However, you're not required to use ScreenFlow; I chose it solely to demonstrate various philosophical points. ScreenFlow is an accessible, user-friendly editor. My business partner, Steve, prefers professional video tools like Final Cut Pro or Premiere.

Meet the instructors

We've assembled a cast of experts to teach the topics they're most knowledgeable about on screencasting.com. Let’s meet some of these instructors:

  • Steve: Offers a Premiere course. He has 15 to 20 years of editing experience, with expertise in screencasts. Check out his course to learn more.

  • Jake: Teaches Da Vinci Resolve, which he believes is the ideal tool for editing screencasts.

  • Eric: An expert in Final Cut Pro, with over 15 years of professional editing experience, covering everything from commercials to documentaries and screencasts. If you're a Mac user or want a more powerful editor, his course is for you.

Diverse teaching for diverse needs

Each instructor specializes in different video editing software. By choosing to learn from these experts, you can find the best software that fits your needs. While some may favor ScreenFlow, it all comes down to personal preference.

Instead of imposing my preferences on you, we brought in experts to cover each program. This decision ensures that you learn from professionals who excel in each specific editor.

Promising expert-led instruction

Our promise to you is that every instructor is an expert in their field. If they're teaching it, they know it. Why doesn’t one instructor teach all topics? Simply because they're not experts in everything. That's our dedication to quality - ensuring you learn from the best.

Expand your skills with additional courses

If you want to explore more, we provide additional courses on other editors. While this course will guide you from start to finish, additional courses await your curiosity for deeper dives.

Finding your path in screencasting

You've embarked on a journey through the main screencasting course. Power up your skills, choose the right tools, and go deep when you're ready. With expert guidance, you're well-equipped to master screencasting.
